COVID Delays Two Main Events on DAZN

Luke Campbell and Alexander Povetkin recently tested positive for the Coronavirus. Povetkin was set to rematch Dillian Whyte after their three knockdown four round slugfest. In a fight to decide the number one contender status for champion Tyson Fury, the now 40 plus year old Povetkin looked to repeat his shocking KO on November 21st. Whyte called out Povetkin doubting the diagnosis but Povetkin who was hospitalized is prepared to show documentation. Apparently his case was bad enough to see him hospitalized . His promoter even doubts his ability to return for the January 30th. Oddly enough Whyte who was KO’d was the one rushing to get back in there which is strange as it was a very nasty KO. On top of that Povetkin will only be older, I guess he feels in defeat he took less damage. Campbell has a less severe case that delayed his December 5th fight with Ryan Garcia. Initially some rumors swirled regarding Jorge Linares stepping in however none or DAZN’s shows substantiated it. Either fight is a good one but hopefully they can reschedule in December.
